Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of DocumenTreeMe ("the app"). By using the app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You're responsible for keeping your password secure.
• You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.

2. Your content

You retain full ownership of the photos, audio, and stories you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the app for you and the people you share with. We do not use your content for advertising or to train AI models, and we don't sell it.

You warrant that you have the right to upload each photo and recording you add, and that your use of the app complies with applicable law.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use DocumenTreeMe to:

• Upload content that is unlawful, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit involving minors, or infringing someone else's rights;
• Harass, impersonate, or mislead other users;
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the service;
• Automate mass creation of accounts or content.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Where content is clearly unlawful, we may remove it without notice.

4. Sharing and collaboration

When you share an album link, anyone with that link can view the album and, if you enable it, contribute voice commentary. As the owner of an album, you control what's included: you can hide or age-restrict any commentary at any time, enable child-safe playback, or delete contributions entirely.

5. Legacy contact

DocumenTreeMe lets you designate a legacy contact. Activation of this feature — and the specific content your contact gains access to — is controlled by you. The legacy contact is a convenience, not a legal inheritance mechanism; for binding arrangements about digital assets, consult a lawyer.

6. Service changes and availability

We aim for DocumenTreeMe to be available at all times, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. If we permanently shut down the service, we'll give reasonable notice and a window for you to export your content.

7. Paid features

If and when paid features are introduced, separate pricing, billing, and refund terms will be presented at the point of purchase and will form part of these terms.

8. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee that transcriptions or AI-generated output will be accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, DocumenTreeMe and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, or data. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you've paid to use it in the 12 months preceding the claim (which may be zero).

10. Termination

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your access if you materially breach these terms. On termination, your content will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of your place of residence to the extent required by mandatory local law; otherwise, by the law of England and Wales. Courts of that jurisdiction will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you.
